Description: HP LaserJet 5200 series printer SNMP MIB defining toner, paper, and device status objects for high-volume monochrome printing.

Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is LJ5200-MIB?

LJ5200-MIB is a Hewlett-Packard vendor MIB for the HP LaserJet 5200 series high-volume monochrome printer, built on HP's netPMLmgmt (PML) management framework, covering toner, paper, control panel, and general device status. It exposes control-panel interaction objects (button/key presses, display content and its CRC/checksum, graphical display contents), power-management objects (energy-star, sleep-mode, on-off-line state), and self-test/internal-page-print diagnostic triggers, alongside localization capability objects. This MIB is used to monitor device software/hardware status through its sleep/on-off-line power state, control-panel activity and display integrity (via CRC), and diagnostic self-test triggers, which together reveal whether the printer is online, idle, or exhibiting a display/firmware fault. It depends on HP's proprietary netPMLmgmt framework rather than the standard IETF Printer-MIB, though both may be present on the device. It is typically deployed in enterprise print-fleet management tools monitoring high-volume HP LaserJet 5200 printers for uptime and consumable status. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the LJ5200-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LJ5200-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP LaserJet 5200 series printer

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll on-off-line to detect if the printer has gone offline, and sleep-mode/energy-star to confirm expected power-saving behavior versus an unexpected idle state suggesting a fault. control-panel-display-contents-crc would be checked to detect display corruption or firmware glitches, while control-panel-button-press and control-panel-key-press counters reveal user interaction patterns; self-test and print-internal-page can be triggered remotely to force a diagnostic page as part of troubleshooting.

What Can Be Monitored

  • online/offline status
  • sleep mode and energy-star state
  • control panel display integrity (CRC)
  • control panel button/key press activity
  • self-test diagnostic status
