juniIfInvStackStatus

Module: Juniper-UNI-IF-MIB

OID (symbolic): Juniper-UNI-IF-MIB::juniIfInvStackStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4874.2.2.3.1.1.1.2.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: RowStatus

Access: read-only

Description: The status of the relationship between two sub-layers.

An instance of this object exists for each instance of the ifStackStatus object, and vice versa. For example, if the variable ifStackStatus.H.L exists, then the variable juniIfInvStackStatus.L.H must also exist, and vice versa. In addition, the two variables always have the same value.

However, unlike ifStackStatus, the juniIfInvStackStatus object is NOT write-able. A network management application wishing to change a relationship between sub-layers H and L cannot do so by modifying the value of juniIfInvStackStatus.L.H, but must instead modify the value of ifStackStatus.H.L. After the ifStackTable is modified, the change will be reflected in this table.

What is juniIfInvStackStatus?

This object reports the status of a stacking relationship between two interface sub-layers, mirroring the standard MIB-II ifStackTable's entries but indexed in the opposite, lower-to-higher, direction; unlike the standard table this one is read-only, and any actual changes must be made through the real ifStackStatus object instead. An admin reads this table when looking up sub-layer relationships starting from the lower layer, rather than the higher layer as the standard table requires, but must make changes elsewhere. For example, for a VLAN interface stacked over a physical port, juniIfInvStackStatus reports the same active status as the corresponding standard ifStackStatus entry, just indexed from the physical port's side.
