Description: The port type: generalPurposeStatic - statically configured (always on) port, generalPurposeDynamic - dynamic port, which could be both configured with different maximum number of interfaces and unconfigured, securityStatic - static port equipped with encryption (IPSEC) hardware. securityDynamic - dynamic port with encryption (IPSEC) hardware, which could be both configured with different maximum number of interfaces and unconfigured.
What is juniTsmPortType?
This read-only value classifies a Tunnel Services Module port as generalPurposeStatic, generalPurposeDynamic, securityStatic, or securityDynamic, where the security variants indicate the port is equipped with IPSEC encryption hardware and the dynamic variants can be configured with a variable maximum number of interfaces or left unconfigured. An admin uses this to know a port's capabilities and configuration flexibility before allocating tunnel interfaces to it, particularly whether it supports IPSEC encryption in hardware. For example, an admin needing to provision IPSEC tunnels would look for a port reporting securityStatic or securityDynamic rather than a generalPurpose type.
