'simple' indicates that Simple Shared Shaping is performed regardless of the line cards capabilities.

'compound' indicates that Compound Shared Shaping is to be performed. When compound is specified for a line card that does not support Compound Shared Shaping, a warning message is logged, and Simple Shared Shaping is configured instead.

'auto' indicates that selection of the shared shaper should be automatic such that compound shared shaping is performed on line cards which support it and simple shared shaping is performed on line cards that do not support it.
