Description: The HDLC idle character has two possible settings. The value can be set to idleCharacterFlags which translates to 0x7E or it can be set to idleCharacterMarks which translates to 0xFF.

At creation, if a value for this object is not specified, the default value of idleCharacterFlags will be assigned.

What is juniHdlcIfIdleCharacter?

This enumerated value selects the idle-line fill character sent on this HDLC interface between frames, either the flags pattern (0x7E) or the marks pattern (0xFF). Admins change it to match what the connected equipment expects during line idle periods, since some legacy or specialized gear requires marks idling. The default idleCharacterFlags(0) uses the standard 0x7E HDLC flag as filler unless switched to idleCharacterMarks(1).
