Module: IbmFaultMgmt-MIB
OID (symbolic): IbmFaultMgmt-MIB::userCause
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.5.1.13.1.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER

Description: A User Cause Code Point (described in IBM document GA27-3136) denoting the probable user cause of the reported problem. From From 0 to 4 instances of this object (in order of decreasing probability) are provided in a trap.
What is userCause?
A read-only IBM-defined code point (0-65535), with up to 4 instances per trap in decreasing order of likelihood, denoting a probable user or customer action that caused the reported problem. Admins use this to see whether the fault might stem from a configuration mistake or misuse rather than a hardware or software defect.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.5.1.13.1.1.1 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IbmFaultMgmt-MIB::userCause
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.5.1.13.1.1.1.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IbmFaultMgmt-MIB::userCause.1
