Description: The number of IP multicast datagrams received. This object counts the same datagrams as ipSystemStatsInMcastPkts but allows for larger values.
Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the management system, and at other times as indicated by the value of ipSystemStatsDiscontinuityTime.
What is ipSystemStatsHCInMcastPkts?
This 64-bit counter tracks multicast IP packets received by the system. It provides the same count as the 32-bit version but handles devices with extremely high traffic. An operator monitors this on heavily-loaded networks to detect multicast flooding or broadcast storm conditions.
