What is icmpMsgStatsInPkts?

This object counts the total number of ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) input packets received for a specific address family (IPv4 or IPv6) and message type. It includes both valid and invalid ICMP messages received by the system. Network administrators use this counter to monitor ICMP traffic volume and diagnose network connectivity issues by tracking ping requests, echo replies, and error messages.
