Description:

The purpose of dot11StationID is to allow a manager to identify a station for its own purposes. This attribute provides for that eventuality while keeping the true MAC address independent. Its syntax is MAC address and default value is the station's assigned, unique MAC address.

What is dot11StationID?

This is a manager-assigned identifier for the wireless station, distinct from its MAC address for tracking purposes. It allows logical identification independent of hardware. An operator sets this during provisioning to track device ownership or location across MAC address changes.
