Description:
This attribute shall specify the value of the minimum size of the window that shall be used by a QAP for a particular AC for generating a random number for the backoff. The value of this attribute shall be such that it could always be expressed in the form of 2X - 1, where X is an integer. The default value for this attribute is 1) aCWmin, if dot11QAPEDCATableIndex is 1 or 2. 2) (aCWmin+1)/2 - 1, if dot11QAPEDCATableIndex is 3. 3) (aCWmin+1)/4 - 1, if dot11QAPEDCATableIndex is 4.
What is dot11QAPEDCATableCWmin?
This object sets the minimum contention window (CW) size used by a QoS Access Point (QAP) for a specific access category to generate random backoff intervals during channel access competition. The value must be expressible as 2^X - 1 (where X is an integer) per IEEE 802.11e EDCA specification. Wireless administrators tune this parameter to optimize channel access fairness and latency for different traffic types (voice, video, best-effort, background).
