Module: IEEE802dot11-MIB

OID (symbolic): IEEE802dot11-MIB::dot11LongRetryLimit

OID (numeric): 1.2.840.10036.2.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description:

This attribute shall indicate the maximum number of transmission attempts of a frame, the length of which is greater than dot11RTSThreshold, that shall be made before a failure condition is indicated. The default value of this attribute shall be 4.

What is dot11LongRetryLimit?

This object specifies the maximum number of transmission attempts for IEEE 802.11 frames longer than the RTS threshold before the sender gives up and reports a failure. The default value is 4 retries; valid range is 1-255. Wireless LAN administrators tune this parameter to balance throughput (fewer retries means faster failure detection) against reliability (more retries help with marginal RF conditions).

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.2.840.10036.2.1.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IEEE802dot11-MIB::dot11LongRetryLimit

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.2.840.10036.2.1.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IEEE802dot11-MIB::dot11LongRetryLimit.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.2.840.10036.2.1.1.4.1 i <value>
