dot11BeaconPeriod

Module: IEEE802dot11-MIB

OID (symbolic): IEEE802dot11-MIB::dot11BeaconPeriod

OID (numeric): 1.2.840.10036.1.1.1.12

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This attribute shall specify the number of TU that a station shall use for scheduling Beacon transmissions. This value is transmitted in Beacon and Probe Response frames.

What is dot11BeaconPeriod?

Specifies, in TU, the interval at which a station transmits Beacon frames; this value is also advertised in Beacon and Probe Response frames. Access-point admins shorten this (e.g. to 100 TU) for faster client discovery/roaming, or lengthen it to reduce beacon overhead on a busy channel.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.2.840.10036.1.1.1.12
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IEEE802dot11-MIB::dot11BeaconPeriod

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.2.840.10036.1.1.1.12.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IEEE802dot11-MIB::dot11BeaconPeriod.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.2.840.10036.1.1.1.12.1 i <value>
