ieee8021FramePreemptionHoldRequest

Module: IEEE8021-Preemption-MIB

OID (symbolic): IEEE8021-Preemption-MIB::ieee8021FramePreemptionHoldRequest

OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.29.1.1.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The value is hold (1) when the sequence of gate operations for the Port has executed a Set-And-Hold-MAC operation, and release (2) when the sequence of gate operations has executed a Set-And-Release-MAC operation. The value of this object is release (2) on system initialization.

What is ieee8021FramePreemptionHoldRequest?

This read-only INTEGER reports whether the port's gate-control sequence last executed a Set-And-Hold-MAC operation, shown as hold(1), or a Set-And-Release-MAC operation, shown as release(2), with release(2) being the value at system initialization. Admins use it to see the current gating state driving frame preemption timing on that port. For example, an admin troubleshooting delayed express traffic might poll this object and find it stuck at hold(1), indicating preemptible traffic is currently being held back.
