ieee8021FramePreemptionAdminStatus
Module: IEEE8021-Preemption-MIB
OID (symbolic): IEEE8021-Preemption-MIB::ieee8021FramePreemptionAdminStatus
OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.29.1.1.1.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: The value of the framePreemptionAdminStatus parameter for the traffic class.
The default value of the framePreemptionAdminStatus parameter is express (1).
The value of this object MUST be retained across reinitializations of the management system.
What is ieee8021FramePreemptionAdminStatus?
This read-write INTEGER sets whether a traffic class on a bridge port is treated as express(1) or preemptible(2) under IEEE 802.1Qbu frame preemption, defaulting to express(1). Admins use it to designate which traffic classes (e.g., time-sensitive control traffic) may be interrupted by higher-priority express frames versus which get preempted to make way for them, and the setting persists across reinitializations. For example, setting this to preemptible(2) on a bulk-data traffic class lets urgent express frames cut in ahead of it on the wire.
