busMode

Module: IBM-LES-BUS-MIB

OID (symbolic): IBM-LES-BUS-MIB::busMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.118.1.2.1.1.1.1.1.26

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: With the Fast Bus Feature the BUS can run now run in one of three modes:

systemBusMode(1) - Frames from BUS are buffered into system memory. All intelligent BUS mode are available in this mode.

adapterBusMode(2) - Frames received for the BUS are kept in adapter memory. BCM is not available in this mode. On Token-Ring all data frames are counted as multicast frames.

vccSpliceBusMode(3) - The BUS ties all Multicast Send VCCs into the Multicast Forward VCC. Frames received for the BUS are immediately forwarded onto the Multicast Foward VCC without notifying the BUS. Statistics related to frame rec/transmit are not maintained when the Bus mode is VCC Splice.

What is busMode?

Selects how the Fast Bus feature handles frames: systemBusMode(1) buffers them in system memory with full intelligent-BUS features available, adapterBusMode(2) keeps them in adapter memory (no BCM, and on Token-Ring all data frames count as multicast), and vccSpliceBusMode(3) splices Multicast Send VCCs directly into the Multicast Forward VCC for fast forwarding but without frame statistics.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.118.1.2.1.1.1.1.1.26
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IBM-LES-BUS-MIB::busMode

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.118.1.2.1.1.1.1.1.26.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IBM-LES-BUS-MIB::busMode.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.118.1.2.1.1.1.1.1.26.1 i <value>
