ibminterfaceClearOutAll

Module: IBM-INTERFACE-MIB

OID (symbolic): IBM-INTERFACE-MIB::ibminterfaceClearOutAll

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.119.4.17.1.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: When SET to a value of clear(1), the counters for all output counters (byte, packet, error) are reset.

When READ, this object always returns a value of noaction(0), since this object is intended as a trigger, rather than providing information.

What is ibminterfaceClearOutAll?

This read-write trigger object resets all output counters (byte, packet, and error) on this interface at once when set to clear(1); reading it always returns noaction(0) since it exists purely to trigger an action, not to report state. Admins use this as a shortcut to zero all outbound statistics for an interface in a single operation instead of clearing each counter individually. For example, setting it to clear(1) resets the interface's outbound byte, packet, and error counters together.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.119.4.17.1.1.10
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IBM-INTERFACE-MIB::ibminterfaceClearOutAll

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.119.4.17.1.1.10.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IBM-INTERFACE-MIB::ibminterfaceClearOutAll.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.119.4.17.1.1.10.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> ibminterfaceClearOutAll.1
