ibminterfaceClearMaintTest

Module: IBM-INTERFACE-MIB

OID (symbolic): IBM-INTERFACE-MIB::ibminterfaceClearMaintTest

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.119.4.17.1.1.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: When SET to a value of clear(1), the counters for self test pass, self test fail and maintenance fail are reset.

When READ, this object always returns a value of noaction(0), since this object is intended as a trigger, rather than providing information.

What is ibminterfaceClearMaintTest?

This read-write trigger object resets the counters for self-test pass, self-test fail, and maintenance fail on this interface when set to clear(1); reading it always returns noaction(0) since it exists purely to trigger an action, not to report state. Admins use this to clear diagnostic test-result counters before rerunning maintenance tests on an interface. For example, setting it to clear(1) zeroes out the self-test and maintenance failure counts so a fresh diagnostic run starts from a clean baseline.
