What Is HWMUSA-DEV-MIB?
HWMUSA-DEV-MIB is a Huawei-proprietary SNMP module providing device-level management for Huawei's MUSA multi-service broadband access platform, a class of access equipment combining voice, data, and DSL services. It exposes general device management objects - identity, configuration, and status information for the MUSA chassis and its service boards. Operators use it to monitor the hardware and software status of the MUSA access device as a whole, such as overall device/board operational state and configuration inventory, which helps confirm the platform is running correctly before drilling into service-specific MIBs (like SHDSL) for line-level detail. It serves as the device-level counterpart to Huawei's MUSA service MIBs (e.g., HWMUSA-SHDSL-CO-MIB), providing the chassis/board context those service MIBs are indexed against. It is typically deployed on Huawei MUSA multi-service access nodes in carrier broadband access networks. Engineers can download the HWMUSA-DEV-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HWMUSA-DEV-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
What Can Be Monitored
- device/board operational status
- device configuration inventory
- board presence/identity
Supported Devices
- Huawei MUSA multi-service broadband access node
Monitoring Examples
No object or table names were provided for this module, so a concrete polling example cannot be grounded in real identifiers; based on the description, an operator would be expected to poll device/board status and identity objects to confirm a MUSA chassis and its service boards are present and operating normally before investigating a reported service issue.
