Description: Huawei SuperLAG MIB for managing super link aggregation groups that span multiple chassis in an IRF fabric.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-SUPERLAG-MIB?

HUAWEI-SUPERLAG-MIB is a Huawei-proprietary module for managing Super Link Aggregation Groups that span multiple chassis within an IRF (Intelligent Resilient Framework) fabric. It exposes SuperLAG group membership, the list of member ports and their owning chassis/slot, and the aggregation/link state of each cross-chassis member. Its monitoring focus is hardware status: the up/down operational state of each member port within the aggregate reveals when a physical uplink on one chassis has failed, while the aggregate as a whole indicates whether traffic has successfully failed over to remaining links. It builds on standard link-aggregation (IEEE 802.3ad/LACP) concepts and is closely tied to Huawei's IRF stacking framework alongside HUAWEI-STACK-MIB. It is typically deployed in Huawei IRF-based switch fabrics in data center or campus core networks where cross-chassis aggregation provides both extra bandwidth and chassis-level redundancy. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-SUPERLAG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-SUPERLAG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei IRF fabric switches (data center/core switches)

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll a SuperLAG member-port table (an hwSuperLagMemberTable/hwSuperLagMemberEntry pattern) for each member's chassis, slot, and link status within the aggregate. A member port switching to a down state on one chassis, while the aggregate itself remains operational, confirms the SuperLAG correctly failed over traffic to the surviving member links without an outage. Tracking aggregate traffic/bandwidth utilization also helps plan capacity across the fabric before any single chassis becomes a bottleneck.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SuperLAG group/member status
  • cross-chassis member port link state
  • aggregate bandwidth utilization
  • chassis/slot assignment of member ports
