Description: The number of ICMP messages discarded because of a short ICMP header.
What is icmpInTooShort?
This counter reports the number of ICMP messages this device discarded because the ICMP header was too short to be valid. An admin monitors it as another indicator of malformed ICMP traffic reaching the device. For example, this rising alongside other ICMP error counters would reinforce a suspicion of malformed or malicious traffic targeting the device.
