What is hwCePingSourceAddress?

This object specifies the source IP address the switch uses when originating the ping test, described in the MIB as an unused address on the same network associated with the target VSI. Admins set this to make sure the ping traffic is sourced from an address that belongs to the VPLS instance being tested, rather than a random local interface, so the reachability check reflects that VSI's actual path. For instance, an operator testing VSI "vpls100" might set hwCePingSourceAddress to 10.10.10.5, an address reserved but unused on that VSI's subnet, before starting the test.
