What is hpnicfVoiceIfCfgCngOn?

This setting controls whether the voice interface fills silence gaps with comfort noise (CNG) instead of leaving dead air, and it applies to FXO, FXS, E&M, and E1/T1 voice subscriber lines. Administrators toggle it when tuning voice quality, since silence suppression without comfort noise can make calls sound abruptly dead during pauses. For example, an admin troubleshooting a choppy-sounding analog trunk might verify hpnicfVoiceIfCfgCngOn is set to enable(1), its default, to keep background noise audible between spoken words.
