hpnicfSpbMulticastBVlanStatus

Module: HPN-ICF-SPB-MIB

OID (symbolic): HPN-ICF-SPB-MIB::hpnicfSpbMulticastBVlanStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.2.128.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: To descript the status of SPBM multicast bvlan is Enabled or Disabled.

What is hpnicfSpbMulticastBVlanStatus?

This read-write switch enables or disables the SPBM multicast B-VLAN feature on the device. The multicast B-VLAN carries multicast traffic across the SPB backbone, so an admin turns this on when the network needs to forward multicast traffic efficiently over the shortest-path-bridged core rather than flooding it. For example, an admin deploying multicast video over an SPB fabric would set hpnicfSpbMulticastBVlanStatus to enabled(1); leaving it at the default disabled(2) means multicast isn't specially handled over the B-VLAN.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.2.128.1.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HPN-ICF-SPB-MIB::hpnicfSpbMulticastBVlanStatus

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.2.128.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HPN-ICF-SPB-MIB::hpnicfSpbMulticastBVlanStatus.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.2.128.1.1.2.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> hpnicfSpbMulticastBVlanStatus.1
