This read-only value reports the rate of new session creation on the device, in sessions per second, distinct from the raw total session count reported elsewhere. An administrator watches for sudden spikes here as an early indicator of a traffic surge or a connection-flood style attack, since a fast-rising creation rate can precede session-table exhaustion. For example, a creation rate suddenly jumping far above its typical baseline, even without the total session count yet looking abnormal, is worth investigating promptly.
