hpnicfprialarmRisingEventIndex
Module: HPN-ICF-RMON-EXT-MIB
OID (symbolic): HPN-ICF-RMON-EXT-MIB::hpnicfprialarmRisingEventIndex
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.8.4.4.1.1.10
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: The index of the eventEntry that is used when a rising threshold is crossed. The eventEntry identified by a particular value of this index is the same as identified by the same value of the eventIndex object. If there is no corresponding entry in the eventTable, then no association exists. In particular, if this value is zero, no associated event will be generated, as zero is not a valid event index.
This object may not be modified if the associated alarmStatus object is equal to valid(1).
What is hpnicfprialarmRisingEventIndex?
This read-write value (0-65535) identifies which RMON event table entry to trigger when this alarm's rising threshold is crossed, with a value of zero meaning no event (and thus no trap) is generated; this cannot be modified while the entry's status is valid(1). An admin links this to a specific event entry configured to send a trap, log a message, or both, tailoring the actual response to a rising-threshold crossing. For example, setting hpnicfprialarmRisingEventIndex to a specific event table entry that's configured to send an SNMP trap ensures a rising-threshold breach on this alarm actually notifies the NMS.
