hpnicfprialarmFallingEventIndex

Module: HPN-ICF-RMON-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): HPN-ICF-RMON-EXT-MIB::hpnicfprialarmFallingEventIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.8.4.4.1.1.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The index of the eventEntry that is used when a falling threshold is crossed. The eventEntry identified by a particular value of this index is the same as identified by the same value of the eventIndex object. If there is no corresponding entry in the eventTable, then no association exists. In particular, if this value is zero, no associated event will be generated, as zero is not a valid event index.

This object may not be modified if the associated alarmStatus object is equal to valid(1).

What is hpnicfprialarmFallingEventIndex?

This read-write value (0-65535) identifies which RMON event table entry to trigger when this alarm's falling threshold is crossed, with a value of zero meaning no event (and thus no trap) is generated; this cannot be modified while the entry's status is valid(1). An admin links this to an event entry so that recovery below the falling threshold can, for example, be logged separately from the original rising alarm. For example, setting hpnicfprialarmFallingEventIndex to an event entry configured for logging (rather than trapping) records recovery events locally without generating additional SNMP trap traffic.
