Description: ID assigned to a PEX. The value range is hpnicfPexMinAssociateId to hpnicfPexMaxAssociateId. The value is 0xffff if the PEX is not assigned an ID. For a successful configuration, the ID should not be used by any other PEX.
What is hpnicfPexPortAssociateId?
This is the identification number an admin assigns to bind a specific port extender unit to this PEX port entry. The value must be unique across all PEX units on the system and falls within the range set by hpnicfPexMinAssociateId and hpnicfPexMaxAssociateId; a value of 0xffff (65535, the default) means no PEX has been assigned yet. An admin provisioning a new extender might set this to 5, and the configuration will fail if PEX ID 5 is already in use elsewhere on the switch.
