What is hpnicfDot3OamEventLogEventTotal?
This is the cumulative count of how many times this type of event itself has been generated since the last reset (as opposed to the underlying occurrence count in hpnicfDot3OamEventLogRunningTotal), e.g. 51 threshold-crossing events resulting from 3253 underlying symbol errors. Admins track this to see how frequently a given OAM alert condition has actually fired on this interface over time.
