A read-only counter of invalid PCS code-groups received on the EPON MAU, excluding the expected /H/ idle code at 100 Mb/s or /V/ code at 1000 Mb/s. A rising count signals physical-layer signal quality problems on the optical link that warrant checking cabling or optics.
