Description: Indicates the DLDP operating status on the port. unknown: cannot be determined for some reason. initial: DLDP is not globally enabled. inactive: physical status of the port is down. unidirectional: all neighbors of the port are in 'unconfirmed' status. bidirectional: more than one neighbor of the port is in 'confirmed' status.

What is hpnicfDldp2PortOperStatus?

This enumerated value reports a port's current DLDP operating status, indicating whether DLDP isn't globally enabled, the port is physically down, all neighbors are unconfirmed (unidirectional), or at least one neighbor is confirmed bidirectional. Admins check it to quickly see whether a port is actually verified as a healthy bidirectional link or is stuck suspecting a one-way fault. A returned value of unidirectional(4) is a strong warning sign that the port's link, despite appearing up, cannot actually pass traffic in both directions.
