hpnicfDLDPAuthenticationPassword

Module: HPN-ICF-DLDP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HPN-ICF-DLDP-MIB::hpnicfDLDPAuthenticationPassword

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.2.43.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: This is the password for authentication. If the value of hpnicfDLDPAuthenticationMode is null, the user cannot set this node. If the value of hpnicfDLDPAuthenticationMode is simple or MD5, the user must set this node with a string.

When the user gets or walks this node, it displays a cipher password if hpnicfDLDPAuthenticationMode is MD5 or simple or a zero-length string if hpnicfDLDPAuthenticationMode is null.

What is hpnicfDLDPAuthenticationPassword?

Holds the password used for DLDP authentication when hpnicfDLDPAuthenticationMode is set to simple or MD5; it cannot be set while the mode is none. When read back, it displays as a ciphered value under simple or md5 mode, or as a zero-length string when authentication is disabled, so the plaintext is never exposed via SNMP GET. An admin enabling md5 authentication on a link would set this object to a shared secret string that both ends of the link must match.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HPN-ICF-DLDP-MIB::hpnicfDLDPAuthenticationPassword

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.2.43.1.1.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HPN-ICF-DLDP-MIB::hpnicfDLDPAuthenticationPassword.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.2.43.1.1.6.1 s <value>
