Description: The administrative enable/disable state for sending handshake EAP_REQ/ID packet.

What is hpnicfdot1xpaeportHandshakeStatus?

This setting enables or disables periodic 802.1X handshake EAP-Request/Identity packets the switch sends to an already-authenticated client on the port. The handshake lets the switch detect that a previously authenticated client has silently disconnected, such as being unplugged without a proper logoff, so it can free up that authenticated session. With handshake enabled at its default, a laptop unplugged mid-session without logging off is detected within the handshake interval and its port entry is cleared automatically.
