Description: The value, in seconds, of the txPeriod constant currently in use by the Authenticator PAE state machine.
What is hpnicfdot1xAuthTxPeriod?
This value, in seconds, sets the txPeriod timer the 802.1X Authenticator PAE state machine uses. It controls how often the switch retransmits an EAP-Request/Identity frame to a supplicant that hasn't yet responded, so admins tune it to balance quick onboarding against extra network chatter. With the default of 30 seconds, a laptop that misses the first identity request gets a second prompt half a minute later before the port times out.
