What is hpnicfdot1xAuthMethod?
This setting selects which 802.1X authentication method - CHAP, PAP, or EAP - the switch uses when talking to the backend authentication server. The choice must match what the RADIUS server and supplicant software support, so a mismatch causes every client on the port to fail authentication. A network using an EAP-TLS certificate deployment would set this to eap(3) rather than leaving it at the chap(1) default.
