hpicfHARedundancyManagementModuleMode

Module: HPICFHIGHAVAILABILITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): HPICFHIGHAVAILABILITY-MIB::hpicfHARedundancyManagementModuleMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.11.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Specify to enable/disable this feature. Enabling allows for management module redundancy when there are two management modules in the switch and does a hitless failover. Disabling prevents redundancy except due to fatal hardware errors on one management module. warmStandby option does a non-hitless failover.

What is hpicfHARedundancyManagementModuleMode?

This object configures whether management-module redundancy is enabled, disabled, or running in warm-standby mode on switches with two management modules. Setting it to enable(1) allows a hitless failover between management modules if the active one fails, while warmStandby(3) permits failover but without the hitless (uninterrupted) guarantee, and disable(2) allows failover only after a fatal hardware error. An admin running a dual-management-module chassis in production would set this to enable(1) to ensure a management module failure doesn't interrupt traffic forwarding.
