Description: This object define the reason for failover. 'switchoverReq' indicates failover as a result of switchover command issued by the user. 'buttonReq' indicates failover as a result of manual boot done by the user via reboot button. 'crashReq' indicates failover as a result of crash that happened to the active module. 'activeReset' indicates failover as a result of reset command issued by the user at active module. 'altReset' indicates failover as a result of reset command issued by the user at the alternate module.

What is hpicfHAFailOverReason?

This object records why a specific failover event happened, distinguishing a user-issued switchover command, a manual reboot button press, a software crash, or a reset issued from either the active or standby module. Admins use this to determine whether a failover was planned maintenance or an unexpected fault, which changes how urgently it needs to be investigated. A value of crashReq(3) tells an admin the failover was triggered by a crash on the active module, warranting a closer look at crash logs, whereas switchoverReq(1) indicates it was a deliberate admin action.
