snTrapOspfIfStateChange
Module: HP-SN-ROUTER-TRAP-MIB
OID (symbolic): HP-SN-ROUTER-TRAP-MIB::snTrapOspfIfStateChange
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.0.3
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description: An ospfIfStateChange trap signifies that there has been a change in the state of a non-virtual OSPF interface. This trap should be generated when the interface state regresses (e.g., goes from Dr to Down) or progresses to a terminal state (i.e., Point-to-Point, DR Other, Dr, or Backup).
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' HP-SN-ROUTER-TRAP-MIB::snTrapOspfIfStateChange snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.0.3
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:60455->[192.168.30.10]:162]: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (383992359) 44 days, 10:38:43.59 SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: HP-SN-ROUTER-TRAP-MIB::snTrapOspfIfStateChange
Start monitoring HP ServerNet (Foundry-heritage) router (routing-protocol event traps) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Create custom SNMP monitor using the HP-SN-ROUTER-TRAP-MIB::snTrapOspfIfStateChange OID value, configure state conditions and alerts, and monitor any HP ServerNet (Foundry-heritage) router (routing-protocol event traps) from a single console.
