hpicfVrrpRespondToPing

Module: HP-ICF-VRRP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HP-ICF-VRRP-MIB::hpicfVrrpRespondToPing

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.31.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: If this object is set to FALSE globally, it prevents a response to ping requests to the virtual router IP addresses configured on all backup routers.If set to TRUE, allows response to ping requests to virtual IP addresses configured on backup virtual routers when they become master. hpicfVrrpVrRespondToPing object must also be configured on a Virtual router to respond to virtual IP ping requests. By default hpicfVrrpRespondToPing is disabled. This MIB object is deprecated and the alternate MIB object is hpicfVrrpv3RespondToPing.

What is hpicfVrrpRespondToPing?

This deprecated boolean object globally controls whether backup virtual routers across the whole device respond to ping requests sent to their virtual IP addresses once they become master. It must be enabled together with the per-router hpicfVrrpVrRespondToPing setting for a given virtual IP to actually answer pings, and it defaults to disabled. Administrators migrating off this deprecated object should use hpicfVrrpv3RespondToPing instead to control ping responsiveness globally.
