hpicfStackAgentForced

Module: HP-ICF-STACK

OID (symbolic): HP-ICF-STACK::hpicfStackAgentForced

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.5.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-only

Description: A value of 'true' indicates that the current active agent card has been chosen by a management action as the active agent. This management action may have been performed through a console user interface command, or by setting the hpicfStackActiveAgent object. The reason for this is to allow the network administrator to prevent an added redundant agent from taking over when there is a configured agent card in the stack.

What is hpicfStackAgentForced?

This read-only boolean reports whether the currently active agent card was deliberately chosen through a management action, either via console command or by writing hpicfStackActiveAgent, rather than by automatic failover. Admins rely on it to see whether a manual override is in effect, which is useful for preventing an added redundant agent from unexpectedly taking over stack management. For example, a value of true tells an admin that someone intentionally pinned the current agent as active, so a newly inserted redundant card won't automatically take over.
