hpicfDosFilterConfig

Module: HP-ICF-DOS-FILTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): HP-ICF-DOS-FILTER-MIB::hpicfDosFilterConfig

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.60.1.1

What is hpicfDosFilterConfig?

This setting turns on HP's built-in Denial-of-Service packet filtering feature, which makes the switch automatically drop incoming packets that match known DoS attack signatures, such as malformed or spoofed packet patterns. Admins enable it to give the switch a first line of defense against certain flood or exploit-style attacks without needing a separate inline firewall appliance. Since it defaults to disabled(2), an admin hardening a switch's edge ports against attack traffic would explicitly set this to enabled(1).

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.60.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HP-ICF-DOS-FILTER-MIB::hpicfDosFilterConfig

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.60.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HP-ICF-DOS-FILTER-MIB::hpicfDosFilterConfig.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.60.1.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> hpicfDosFilterConfig.1
