hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlUcastMode

Module: HM2-TRAFFICMGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): HM2-TRAFFICMGMT-MIB::hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlUcastMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.11.31.1.1.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: HmEnabledStatus

Access: read-write

Description: If enabled, unknown unicast storm recovery will function on this port. When you specify Enable for unicast Storm Recovery and the unknown unicast traffic on this Ethernet port exceeds the configured threshold, the switch blocks (discards) the unknown unicast traffic.

What is hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlUcastMode?

This value enables or disables unknown-unicast storm recovery on this port, defaulting to disable; when enabled, the switch discards unknown unicast traffic exceeding the configured threshold rather than flooding it. An admin enables this to guard against unknown-unicast flooding, which can spike when MAC address tables age out under heavy churn. Setting hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlUcastMode to enable activates unknown-unicast traffic policing on this port at the threshold set by hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlUcastThreshold.
