hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlBcastThreshold

Module: HM2-TRAFFICMGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): HM2-TRAFFICMGMT-MIB::hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlBcastThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.11.31.1.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: Configures the broadcast storm recovery threshold for this port as a percentage of port speed in 1% increments or as an absolute pps rate. This threshold is also valid for multicasts or unknown unicasts, when the device does not support a separate limiter per storm type. (A separate limiter per storm-type is supported when hm2TrafficMgmtIngressStormBucketType has the value 'multi-bucket')

What is hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlBcastThreshold?

This value sets the broadcast storm recovery threshold for this port, from 0 to 14880000, as either a percentage of port speed or an absolute pps rate depending on the configured threshold unit; on devices without a separate limiter per storm type, this same threshold also applies to multicast and unknown-unicast traffic (a separate limiter per type is available when hm2TrafficMgmtIngressStormBucketType is 'multi-bucket'). An admin sets this to the maximum broadcast rate the port should tolerate before the switch starts discarding the excess. For example, with the unit set to pps, a value of 5000 caps broadcast traffic at 5000 packets per second on that port.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.11.31.1.1.1.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HM2-TRAFFICMGMT-MIB::hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlBcastThreshold

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.11.31.1.1.1.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HM2-TRAFFICMGMT-MIB::hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlBcastThreshold.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.11.31.1.1.1.6.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlBcastThreshold.1
