hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlBcastMode

Module: HM2-TRAFFICMGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): HM2-TRAFFICMGMT-MIB::hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlBcastMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.11.31.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: HmEnabledStatus

Access: read-write

Description: If enabled, broadcast storm recovery will function on this port. When you specify Enable for Broadcast Storm Recovery and the broadcast traffic on this Ethernet port exceeds the configured threshold, the switch blocks (discards) the broadcast traffic.

What is hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlBcastMode?

This value enables or disables broadcast storm recovery on this port, defaulting to disable; when enabled, the switch discards broadcast traffic exceeding the configured threshold rather than forwarding it. An admin enables this on access ports to protect the network from a broadcast storm caused by a misbehaving connected device or a Layer 2 loop. Setting hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlBcastMode to enable activates broadcast traffic policing on this port at the threshold set by hm2TrafficMgmtIfIngressStormCtlBcastThreshold.
