Module: HM2-TRAFFICMGMT-MIB
OID (symbolic): HM2-TRAFFICMGMT-MIB::hm2TrafficMgmtIfEgressShapingRate
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.11.31.1.1.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Unsigned32
Access: read-write
Description: Maximum bandwidth allowed for this interface as a whole, typically used to shape the outbound transmission rate. The value is either specified in terms of percentage of overall link speed for the port in 1% increments or absolute in kbps. A value of 0 means there is no maximum bandwidth limit in effect. The default value is 0. Valid value ranges depend on the value returned by object hm2TrafficMgmtIfEgressShapingRateUnit. If that object returns percent(1), hm2TrafficMgmtIfEgressShapingRate accepts values 0..100. If that object returns kbps(2), hm2TrafficMgmtIfEgressShapingRate accepts values 0,64..4294967295.
What is hm2TrafficMgmtIfEgressShapingRate?
This value sets the maximum outbound bandwidth shaping limit for this interface as a whole, interpreted either as a percentage of link speed (0-100) or as an absolute rate in kbps (0, or 64-4294967295), depending on hm2TrafficMgmtIfEgressShapingRateUnit; a value of 0, the default, means no maximum is enforced. An admin sets this to cap how much traffic a port can transmit, useful for preventing one interface from monopolizing shared upstream capacity. For example, with the unit set to percent, a value of 50 caps this port's outbound rate at half its link speed.
