Description: When enabled, TCP Null scans (TCP flags and sequence number set to 0) are filtered by the device.
What is hm2DosMitigationTcpNullScan?
Enables (when set) filtering of TCP Null scan packets, i.e. packets with all TCP flags and the sequence number set to zero, a classic reconnaissance technique attackers use to probe for open ports without completing a handshake. It's disabled by default, so an admin enables it to have the device silently drop these probe packets before they reach hosts behind it.
