Description: When enabled, all ingress ICMP packets having the type set to ECHO_REQ (ping) and a broadcast destination IP are dropped.
What is hm2DosMitigationIcmpSmurfAttack?
Enables dropping of ingress ICMP echo-request (ping) packets whose destination IP is a broadcast address, the classic amplification vector for a Smurf attack. Disabled by default, an admin enables it to prevent the device from being used to amplify or forward broadcast ping floods.
