linkEncoding

Module: HLS-MIB

OID (symbolic): HLS-MIB::linkEncoding

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.26.2.2.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The encoding scheme used on the serial link between two bridges. Setting this object does not take effect until the next reset of the bridge. When read, the object retruns the last value written to it (which is not necessarily the value of the link encoding being used).

What is linkEncoding?

Selects the line encoding scheme, NRZ or NRZI, used on the serial link between two remote bridges; like the link's CRC type, a change only takes effect after the next reset. As with that setting, reading it returns the last written value rather than necessarily the encoding currently active on the link.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.26.2.2.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HLS-MIB::linkEncoding

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.26.2.2.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HLS-MIB::linkEncoding.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.26.2.2.5.1 i <value>
