hjPnniAllowLGNPathLoops

Module: HJ-PNNI-MIB

OID (symbolic): HJ-PNNI-MIB::hjPnniAllowLGNPathLoops

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.603.2.10.2.7.2.12

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: Modifies the Dijkstra (path-calculation) algorithm in this switch system to allow or disallow loops of paths when computing paths through Logical Group Nodes. When loops are disallowed (this parameter set to false), no path will be considered which enters the same Logical Group Node twice. This considerably lessens the time needed to compute the paths in complicated networks. However, under some crankback situations, this might fail to find a viable path to the desired nodal destination. Note that loops between lowest-level nodes (nodes within the local node's lowest-level peer group members) are always disallowed, regardless of the setting of this parameter.

What is hjPnniAllowLGNPathLoops?

This TruthValue flag (default false) controls whether the PNNI Dijkstra path-calculation algorithm may consider paths that pass through the same Logical Group Node twice. Leaving it false speeds up path computation in complex hierarchical networks, though rare crankback scenarios may then fail to find a viable path; note loops among lowest-level peer nodes are always disallowed regardless of this setting.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.603.2.10.2.7.2.12
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HJ-PNNI-MIB::hjPnniAllowLGNPathLoops

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.603.2.10.2.7.2.12.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HJ-PNNI-MIB::hjPnniAllowLGNPathLoops.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.603.2.10.2.7.2.12.1 s <value>
