Description: HH3C MIB for SAN aggregation managing Fibre Channel SAN aggregation and inter-switch links on H3C storage switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-SAN-AGG-MIB?

HH3C-SAN-AGG-MIB manages Storage Area Network (SAN) aggregation groups on H3C Fibre Channel storage switches, allowing multiple FC ports to be bundled into a single logical inter-switch link for higher bandwidth and redundancy. It exposes aggregation group creation/membership, per-member port state, and negotiated link speed data (both previous and current). Its monitoring role centers on link/hardware health for storage fabrics: tracking member port state lists and speed changes reveals a degraded or dropped FC link within an aggregation group, which could reduce SAN throughput or redundancy without an outright outage. It is a vendor-specific extension built on top of Fibre Channel switching concepts and typically coexists with standard FC management frameworks (e.g., FC-MGMT/FICON-related MIBs) rather than replacing them. It is deployed on H3C Fibre Channel or FCoE storage switches used to interconnect SAN fabrics in data center storage networks. Engineers can download the HH3C-SAN-AGG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-SAN-AGG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C Fibre Channel/FCoE storage switch

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll hh3cSanAggGroupTable for hh3cSanAggMemberStateList against a given hh3cSanAggGroupIndex to confirm all FC ports in the aggregation are up, and compare hh3cSanAggGroupPreviousSpeed to hh3cSanAggGroupCurrentSpeed to detect an unexpected link-speed renegotiation. A member port reported down in hh3cSanAggMemberStateList while hh3cSanAggMaxMemberNumber is otherwise fully subscribed would signal reduced SAN aggregate bandwidth needing attention.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SAN aggregation group membership
  • per-member FC port state
  • current vs previous link speed
  • aggregation group row status
