Module: HH3C-MPLSOAM-PS-MIB

OID (symbolic): HH3C-MPLSOAM-PS-MIB::hh3cMplsPsHoldOff

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.25506.2.80.2.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-create

Description: The time between declaration of signal degrade or signal fail, and the initialization of the protection switching algorithm. Step is 100ms, maximum is 10s.

What is hh3cMplsPsHoldOff?

This read-create integer sets the hold-off timer, in units of 100 milliseconds, between when a signal failure is declared on the working LSP and when the protection-switching algorithm actually kicks in. Admins tune it to avoid triggering a protection switch on brief, transient link blips, trading a small amount of extra outage time for stability. For example, setting hh3cMplsPsHoldOff to 50 units (5 seconds) delays the switchover by 5 seconds after a signal fail is first detected, within the 10-second maximum allowed.
